Cate is a qualified teacher; raised by two teachers, married to a teacher, and with five teacher-siblings. She has always been surrounded by people with a passion for teaching and learning – like herself – and for finding ways to reach every student.
Born and raised in the Northern Rivers, Cate then traveled around the world, teaching in both schools and outdoor/adventure environments, before returning home to Ballina in 2017.
Cate is experienced with gifted students and those with special learning needs, and in addition, Cate has a particular affinity for students who just struggle with “doing school”: how to stay organized, how to break down large tasks into manageable goals, how to figure out what the question is asking and what the teacher is looking for in a strong answer…
